New College Funk v.s. Ringling.

We played our friendly rivals Ringling today in a brilliant match in the cool afternoon sun. Despitte vastly out-numbering the New College side, having at least 15 players on the field and the bench, Ringling wasn't able to convert anything meaningful. New College opened the scoring in the first half thanks to a nice strike by Zac Totta which disected Ringling's defence. The rest of the first half was full of action, but no goals as Ringling tried to equalise while the Funk attempted to extend the lead. No matter, the second half exploded into life as Keith Sommers slotted a beauty into the back of the net about mid-way into the half. Once more there was a lot of action, before Ringling's Dani and Jun played a nice one-two, edging around Michael Dexter to shoot into an open corner. New College's goalie, James Eveland, was a wall in the net and had a great game, but he was wrong-footed this time, leading to the goal. With the score at 2-1, Ringling actually showed some inspiration, passing nicely for a little bit before they lost possession. Once they lost the ball, New College sent waves down the field, ending in Zac Totta's second goal, the third for New College and the fourth of the game. Following the goal, Ringling were out of it, almost allowing another two goals before the match ended 3-1. There were congratulations as well as hand-shakes on both sides after the whistle blew. This was actually New College's first win of the year and it should be said that it was also their best performance. Congrats New College and good game Ringling!
