League action today- 12/10/2010

Hannover played Stuttgart in Germany today, in a relatively close match which saw Hannover edge their visitors 2-1. Didier Ya Konan scored the first goal, for Hannover, in the 35th minute. That was the only goal of the first half despite chances for both sides. Stuttgart replied in the 74th minute thanks to Georg Niedermeier's efforts to equalise. However, Didier Ya Konan scored once more, two minutes later, to put the hosts up as the game ended. Across the border in the Netherlands, Heracles defeated Venlo by the same margin. Everton opened the scoring in the 37th minute to put Heracles up 1-0. Samuel Armenteros added another before half-time, in the 42nd minute, to put the home side 2-0 up as the ref blew for the break. Ruud Boymans scored for Venlo in the 62nd minute to make the game a little less one-sided. Finally, in Turkey, Eskişehirspor defeated Beşiktaş JK in their match today, a game which opened with several cards including a sending-off in the 38th minute of Guti from the away side, Beşiktaş. Playing with a man down, it's still a bit of a surprise to see top-five positioned Beşiktaş lose to a side outside of the top-ten in the Turkish league. But lose they did. Veysel Sari opened the scoring in the 62nd minute for Eskişehirspor while another strike in the 75th minute by Sezer Öztürk put the game beyond Beşiktaş' reach.
