Club World Cup update- 12/10/2010.

Well, I was wrong. Ten-man Mazembe were actually able to defeat Pachuca meaning TP Mazembe Englebert will be taking on Sport Club Internacional in the semi-finals of the UAE Club World Cup. The final score was 1-0 in a game which saw several injuries amidst the attempts by Pachuca's Alejandro Manso and the goal by Mbeza Bedi just past the 20th minute: Mulota Kabangu passed the ball beautifully, having the ball fall perfectly for Mbeza Bedi, who took it easily and fired the ball into the top of the goal. Interestingly, Bedi was responsible for Mazembe's only other goal in the 2009 Club World Cup. Pachuca just had no reply though, with Mazembe holding on and almost even scoring a second before the half! This was possible thanks to Dioko Kaluyituka's precise pass to Given Singuluma which led to a great attempt 8 minutes before the half. The representatives from Mexico started the second-half very well, straining the Mexican defenses. Raul Martinez had a nice chance at 60 minutes thanks to a shot from afar which missed out though. Indeed, Mazembe had to fend off many assaults by the Mexicans as the game winded down despite finishing the final nine minutes of the match at a numerical disadvantage following Sunza's collection of a second yellow card for crashing into Alejandro Manso. So, Mazembe were able to cling on to their lead to secure a historic result.
