AFC Asian Cup update 1/21/11. Futsal will come later.

Well Qatar has been successful in its presentation of the 2011 Asian Cup but, their team has now been eliminated. They faced Japan earlier today and were just barely edged out as Masahiko Inoha, a defender, struck late to give ten-man Japan a 3-2 victory. Sebastian Suria had given the hosts an early lead but Shinji Kagawa had other plans, drawing the Japanese level. Fabio Cesar scored a beautiful free-kick for the Qataris, just skimming into Eiji Kawashima's goal. Defender Maya Yoshida was dismissed leading to Cesar's free-kick which brought Japan down to ten men. Keisuke Honda, Shinji Okazaki, and Kagawa all came together for Japan's equaliser in a beautiful play. Both teams had lots of oppurtunitys leading up to Cesar's free-kick, but following the goal which put Qatar ahead, Kagawa equalised once more to make it 2-2. The match ended very actively with only Inoha finding a tie-breaker in the 90th minute despite many chances. Japan will face the winner of Iran v.s. South Korea.
