And we are back! 7/13/2011.

First of all, I apologize for the tardiness of this post, I haven't had much computer access of late. Anyway, back to what is important! A ton is going on this summer with the Women's World Cup in Germany, Mexico hosting the U-17 World Cup, and countless other events taking place. So then, on to the Women's World Cup! With the hosts knocked out  it has still been a fantastic tournament with most of the usual suspects and some surprises have all really been performing well. Germany had been playing well, Brazil (especially Marta) were making beautiful football, and Sweden were working the pitch magnificently. Last but not least, the French and the Japanese are doing wonders and have the hearts and minds of many people with them. And you can't forget the Americans who have worked miracles as much as anyone could hope for. What is the Final looking like then? Well, the Japanese beat Sweden in their Semi-final to book their ticket while the U.S.A. were able to defeat the French by a similar scoreline in their match. Meanwhile, over in Central America, in Mexico, after the hosts defeated Germany quite convincingly and Uruguay upset Brazil, the 3rd place match was an intense, goal gorged thriller between Brazil and Germany which saw the Germans leave the tournament on a semi-high. In the Final meanwhile, Mexico essentially had their way with the Uruguayans who just weren't good enough on the day. I look forward to completing all the summer's action at a later point!
