Almost forgot the 3rd place game of the Copa America!

That's right, it took place today between Peru and Venezuela and did not disappoint (that is, unless you were hoping to see one of these sides in the Finals.) It was an especially fantastic day for Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero who began by setting up William Chiroque for a goal in the 42nd minute before trying his own luck with the ball, striking a hat-trick with goals in the 64th, 89th, and 92nd minutes! Yes, Venezuela did stem the tide a little when Juan Fernando Arango scored in the 77th minute, and they did have several dangerous chances throughout the match, but that was never going to be enough. After all, they were already a man down after a red card to midfielder Tomas Rincon in the 58th. Despite the fact that this was only the 3rd place match for the two sides, they should remember that they are progressed farther then the hosts Argentina, who have Lionel Messi amongst others, defending champions and giants Brazil, and their own ghosts. Need I remind you that Peru were missing 2 of their best strikers (Jefferson Farfan and Claudio Pizarro) while also being the worst team in South American World Cup qualifying for the South African addition last year? Thanks to both of the teams for a great tournament!
