Lots and lots of news 4/1/2011. No joke.

First of all, today's games include what should be a good match between St. Pauli and Schalke in Germany; Portugal's Leiria and Maritimo play on the Iberian Peninsula; over in Eastern Europe Illychivets Mariupil and Shakhtar Donetsk play in Ukraine;  finally, Ferencvaros and Ujpest as well as Kaposvar v.s. Vasas will be the face-offs in Hungary. Tomorrow, Inverness host Celtic and Rangers welcome Dundee United in a big day of matches for Scotland. Meanwhile on the English side of the border all of the big names are playing: Arsenal play Blackburn, Newcastle will play host to Wolves, Stoke welcome Chelsea, West Brom face Liverpool, West Ham will fight Manchester United, and Tottenham are away to Wigan. Across the water in Germany there is a lot of big name action as well with Bayern welcoming Monchengladbach to Bavaria, Mainz expecting a win against Freiburg, Kaiserslautern hoping to upset Leverkusen when they face off, and Dortmund expecting victory over Hannover. Hoffenheim will also be facing Hamburg tomorrow. Over in the Netherlands solid performing under dogs Twente will be taking on PSV Eindhoven while Feyenoord match-up with AZ. In Spain, Real Madrid face Sporting Gijon as Barcelona are away to Villarreal in one of the biggest games of the day. However, the one most people will be watching is probably the Milan, Italy derby of AC Milan v.s. Inter Milan. Victory for Inter would put them one ahead of AC while if the black and reds triumph, that's five points separating themselves and their cross town rivals. Last but not least, the Swedish league kicks off with Halmstad's hosting of Kalmar. Saturday isn't the only day of games though, as Sunday is when Portuguese giants Benfica welcome the league leaders Porto to the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon. There are tons of other games, but due to time constraints that's all I have time for! I'll be back tomorrow to update on scores!
