Domestic action 4/9/2011.

For this post, I'd like to start in the North land of Sweden: GAIS welcomed Trelleborg and destroyed them 4-0. Alvaro Santos struck the first two goals of the game, coming in the 15th and 29th minutes to give the home side a 2-0 lead at the half. Mervan Celik then struck in the 59th to make it 3-0. They had to wait for the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half for the fourth goal, which Wanderson was all too happy to put in. Gefle were also successful hosts, beating Norrkoping 2-0 thanks to goals from Daniel Theorin in the 11th and Hans Berggren in the 88th minutes. Over to Scotland now, Celtic edged St. Mirren in Glasgow 1-0 thanks to Kris Commons' 78th minute goal. Aberdeen lost to Hibernian 0-1 after Akpo Sodje slotted home for the visitors in the 15th minute. Dundee United struck twice to sink St. Johnstone while Hearts and Motherwell ended in deadlock: 0-0. Finally, Kilmarnock tied Inverness 1-1. Down south in England, nothing out of the ordinary happened as Chelsea edged out Wigan 1-0 thanks to Florent Malouda's 67th minute strike, Manchester United beat Fulham 2-0 thanks to Dimitar Berbatov's 12th minute strike, Antonio Valencia also struck, in the 32nd minute to tie the game up for the club on a high. Tottenham took on Stoke and were able to edge them out 3-2 with two goals coming from Peter Crouch and one from Luka Modric. I'll go over some more results later!
