Champions League, Europa League 2/22/2011

There were several good games today as Kobenhavn hosted Chelsea while Real Madrid visited Lyon in the Champions League. CSKA Moskva also met PAOK in the Europa League: CSKA Moskva will be progressing as they tied PAOK 1-1 for an aggregate score of 2-1. PAOK scored first through Zlatan Muslimovic in the 67th and held onto the lead for a bit before Sergei Ignashevich slotted home from a penalty of Vagner Love's that was saved by PAOK's goalie Dario Kresic. Meanwhile, in the Champions League, Chelsea struck two past Kobenhavn without response despite being outside of England. Nicolas Anelka struck both, one coming in the first and the other in the second half to give Chelsea a very comfortable position into the second leg back in England. The other match of the day, between Real Madrid and Lyon took place in France where the Spaniards went ahead in the 65th through Karim Benzema before Bafetimbi Gomis equalised for Lyon in the 83rd much to the relief of the home fans, coaches, and players. The game ended 1-1 with the second leg eagerly anticipated.
