Carling Cup Finale.

Birmingham City v.s. Arsenal. A match the Gunners could be reasonably confident of winning right? Wrong. Birmingham have claimed a piece of major silverware for the first time since 1963 as they beat Arsenal 2-1 with a strike from Obafemi Martins two minutes from the final whistle. His job was made incredibly easy following an episode of miscommunication which left Arsenal's goalie, Wojciech Szczesny, painfully out of position. Nikola Zigic, who scored the first goal of the game, set the situation up with a relatively weak header. Robin Van Persie had drawn the sides level following Zigic's goal but he could do nothing more as Birmingham strode into the lead once and for all. To be fair though, both Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott were unable to play through injury but that doesn't mean Birmingham's victory was any less meaningful or memorable.
