UEFA Futsal Cup.

Holders of the Futsal Cup SL Benfica beat major group rivals KMF Ekonomac Kragujevac 5-2 as Sporting Clube de Portugal defeated  ElPozo Murcia FS 5-3 to top their elite round groups and complete the finals lineup thus enabling Lisbon to have 2 teams serving as representatives. Benfica's victory in Serbia was a pleasant surprise for the Portuguese side. Kairat Almaty and ASD Città di Montesilvano C/5 are the other teams in the knockout finals with one of the four hosting the apex game on the 28th or 29th of April. Sporting started poorly, going down one thanks to Saúl's effort for Murcia. Then, Déo came in for the Portuguese and scored twice as the second half ended. With the score 2-1, Murcia equalized after halftime only to go down again thanks to Vinicius's own goal, and then Alex scored Sportings 4th. Mauricio then came on as a free moving goal-keeper as the Spaniards fought to remain in contention but to no avail: Alex scored once more with about 40 seconds left to put the game beyond Murcia's reach. Murcia's fall means Spain will actually be without a representative  for the first time since the 06/07 edition. Benfica trailed their hosts Ekonomac on goal difference but that was an issue quickly rectified as the Portuguese were up 2-0 in 14 minutes thanks to the efforts of  Diece and Arnaldo. The Portuguese side continued in this vein of form to finish the match 5-2. Ekonomac's coach Ivan Božović lamented his side's poor early form after the match. Benfica is the only team that has had a perfect record thus far despite being tied second bottom in goal difference.
