U-20 Women's World Cup 2012 - Japan!

You can be sure that it will be a thrilling tournament as the hosts, Japan, face stiff competition from the likes of Mexico, New Zealand, and Switzerland in Group A. Meanwhile, always competitive Brazil will take on challenging Group B opposition in Italy, Nigeria, and South Korea! As for Group C, anyone really could win it as the likes of North Korea, Norway, Argentina, and Canada face-off in what each of them will hope will be their first round of games among many. Last but certainly not least we have Group D where Ghana and China will have the mountains of the United States and Germany to climb if they are to progress out of the group stages! Taking place between the 19th of August and the 8th of September, the games are sure to bring a lot of excitement and fierce competition so I certainly encourage you to watch a game or two. There will be no teams new to the scene however this is only Ghana's second appearance at a U-20 Women's World Cup so they will feel as though they still have a lot to prove to the world. I would expect, at the very least, the United States and one of the Asian representatives (maybe Japan for their first time?) to make it to the Semi-Finals. The reigning champion German women are also looking like strong contenders to make a title run while the Swiss may have a reason to look at this tournament with some apprehension: they haven't won a match in the U-20 World Cup competition in 6 matches!
