Quick weekend update!

In the northern country of Scotland, the season has essentially been decided though there are still games! Hearts were hammered at home by Rangers 0-3 with Andrew Little scoring Rangers' last two. Inverness were also beaten today, 0-2 by Aberdeen despite the fact that Aberdeen didn't actually score any goals themselves! Two own-goals in the 2nd half destroyed the home side's morale. St. Johnstone were also beaten 0-2, by Dundee United while St. Mirren and Dunfermline had a 4-4 goal-fest! On to Germany now where Bremen were edged 1-2 by Bayern with the assistance of an own-goal from Naldo in the 75th minute of the match. That was after Naldo had scored Bremen's first goal 24 minutes earlier. Dortmund comfortably beat Monchengladbach 2-0 while Kaiserslautern turned away from their losing ways long enough to edge a 1-2 victory over Hertha Berlin in Berlin. Hoffenheim on the other hand were beaten 0-1 by Bayer Leverkusen as Koln and Stuttgart tied 1-1 which Nurnberg and Hamburg matched. On the other side of the channel now to England where Arsenal and Chelsea as well as Aston Villa and Sunderland tied 0-0. Blackburn defeated visiting Norwich 2-0 in their game at the same time as Bolton and Swansea drew 1-1. Fulham were able to grab the lead over Wigan in the 89th minute of their match while Newcastle had no trouble against Stoke, wiping them away 3-0. QPR upset Tottenham 1-0. Down to Italy now where the action continued and Catania beat Atalanta 2-0 just as Napoli served up Novara. Chievo and Udinese finished a goalless tie while Parma showed no mercy to Cagliari in their match - 3-0 for the home side! Spain and the world looked on as Barcelona lost to Real Madrid at home 1-2 after Sami Khedira gave the visiting Madrid side the lead in the 17th. While Alexis Sanchez was able to equalize in the 70th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo made it 1-2 just 3 minutes later to paint a bleak picture for the Catalans in the league title race. Mallorca were able to beat Zaragoza 1-0 in their match-up today while Sporting Gijon finished 2-1 up over Rayo Vallecano. Sevilla and Levante were level 1-1 as I posted this. Last but not least, Portugal's title race is still a tight one amid the top two with pole-position Porto currently leading Beira-Mar 1-0 while Benfica were able to destroy Maritimo 4-1 earlier today. Vitoria edged Leiria 3-2 in their face-off today. Have a good weekend!
