Futsal Cup.

The people of the Catalan portion of Spain, and fans of Barcelona everywhere finally have something to cheer about: their side won the UEFA Futsal Cup today! Barcelona faced off against Dinamo Moskva earlier today in a hotly contested match. Wilde was the man to give Barca the lead, at 1:18 after Lin passed the ball into him. That was all for the 1st half - though Lin went on to score in the 2nd half, 23:11, following a quick break by the Catalans which he concluded with a beautiful ball just out of the reach of Moskva's goalkeeper Aleksei Popov. While Wilde did have his penalty saved at 34:44 and Moskva's captain Aleksandr Rakhimov was able to make it 1-2 at 36:30 after turning a nice pass to goal Barcelona were able to keep their wits about them. The goal to make it 1-3 was accomplished at 38:19 with Barca's Ari keeping the ball in allowing Torras to walk it into the goal to conclude a truly great match. In the match for 3rd place Marca and Sporting Lisbon faced-off in a fascinating game of futsal. Despite going 0-2 up by 4:25 thanks to Leitao, Sporting managed to find themselves level 2-2 at the end of the 1st half thanks to Papu at 8:39 and Adriano Foglia at 11:38. Foglia's 2nd goal at 34:53 made it 3-2 for Marca before Pedro Cary equalized for Sporting to save them an embarrassing loss. Following regulation time's completion we moved on to penalties. Both sides made their first two and missed their third. Each team proceeded to make their respective fourth attempts before Andre of Sporting missed his opportunity and Marca's Duarte converted his to give the tournament debutants bronze their first time through! With that, Barcelona won their first Futsal Cup title and Marca did very well for themselves in their first run. Hope you enjoyed the games!
