Group C and D have officially opened with Nigeria falling to the fierce Russians 4-8. Tahiti meanwhile have done themselves very nicely with a 5-2 victory over Venezuela. Group D had excitement of its own though with Japan edged by Mexico 2-3 while Brazil had a scare when Ukraine leveled with them 3-3. The South Americans were able to win on penalties though, 2-1.
